Sue Spargo Workshop
Saturday & Sunday, October 11 & 12, 9am-4pm
We are so excited about Sue’s next visit to Yellow Bird Art- we’re Sue junkies through and through!  Sue is a nationally known, wonderfully imaginative and creative quilt designer.  Most of her designs utilize wool appliqué techniques, which if you’re not familiar with, is something you need to experience- because the wool is pre-felted, there aren’t any pesky edges needing to be turned under.  We’re currently working on the details with Sue and will post more information as soon as we have it!  The workshop will be held at the Community Center in Lansing, located at 395 Main Street. There is a $25.00 non-refundable deposit required for the workshop.

Workshop Fee: $100.  Kits will be available.

Your Class, Your Times
Class Fee, $15 per person
Is there something you’ve wanted to learn about quilting or sewing that you just haven’t seen offered? Gather a group of friends – we need at least 4 people to run a class – and let us know what it is that you’re interested in! We’ll work with you to schedule the perfect time. We can also teach you all about surface embellishment, jewelry making, even collage art…. Just imagine it! Stop in the shop, or call us to talk about the options.

Individual Instruction
Class Fee, $20 for 90 minute session
Do your feel just a little bit shy about taking a class with others? Think your sewing skills aren’t up to snuff? Well, we’re here for you! We are delighted to offer private individual instruction. We’ll provide the instruction and support you need for a 90 minute session, and you’ll have the use of our classroom for up to three hours. Call to discuss your needs, and to schedule a lesson.

To register for a class:
· Classes must be paid for at time of registration. Class fees do not include materials needed for the class.
· If you are unable to register in person, you may do so by phone. If you choose to pay by check we will hold your spot for 3 days while we wait for your payment. To receive your supply list by mail, please include a self addressed stamped envelope. If an envelope is not enclosed with your payment, we’ll assume you will be picking up your supply list.
· The maximum number of students per class is 6. We’ve found six to be the most comfortable for everyone involved so that each student has enough working room and ability to access the cutting table and ironing boards.
· We encourage you to purchase your supplies at Yellow Bird for a number of reasons: you’ll be happier with your end results using the high quality products we offer, and your purchases help us to provide the great selection you want in a quilt shop. You will receive a 10% discount on everything you purchase for your class!
· Our policy for all cancellations is that 10% of the class fee will be charged. For cancellations of less than 1 week, the entire class fee is forfeited. However, you may send someone else in your place. If Yellow Bird Art cancels a class, we will refund the full amount of the class fee, or you may transfer the fee to another class of your choice if there are spaces available.

Classroom requests:
· Please try to be on time.
· No children in class please, unless it’s a class designated for children.
· Remember your sewing machine and supplies. Please select your fabrics prior to class! We are delighted to help you pick out fabrics, and frequently offer our students the option of purchasing kits.
· Have your machine in good working order (we are not able to repair/recondition machines).
